Facilities at Creare
Engineers and technical staff working on cutting edge R&D projects require state-of-the-art equipment and tools. A recent facility addition doubled Creare’s laboratory space to over 30,000 square feet. In the last two years we have also increased our capability to machine, inspect, and test hardware. Specific additions include a state-of-the-art Mikron HSM 600U 5-axis machining center, which adds to our existing CNC and manual equipment; a Zeiss Contura G2 coordinate measuring machine for inspection of extreme tolerance, space-qualified hardware; a soldering, welding, and brazing facility with electrostatic discharge protection for sensitive components; a sound-insulated acoustic facility that can be configured as a hemi-anechoic or reverberant room for our work in the field of hearing protection; and most recently, an ELD wind tunnel for testing of personal protective equipment under realistic wind conditions.
