Møtran Modeling Software
Under NASA funding, Creare developed the Mftran® modeling software. Mftran (for multi-phase transient) is a modern software package for simulating the behavior of gas-liquid flow systems that can be represented as networks of pipes, tees, pumps, evaporators, condensers, and the like. Mftran features:
- Full two-fluid formulation (unequal phase velocities and temperatures)
- Complete flow regime maps (single-phase, bubbly, slug, stratified, and annular)
- Mechanistic shear and heat transfer models (regime-based)
- Time-varying and reduced/micro-gravity
- Drag-and-drop graphical user interface with integrated plotting
The software is easy to use, runs on standard PCs, and has been validated against data from both terrestrial and reduced gravity experiments.

More information is available on Mftrans Features and on a Tour of its graphical user interface.
